How Does Your Garden Grow? The Jefferson Market Garden is expanding its corps of gatekeepers in order to extend open hours. They are seeking volunteers, willing to commit two hours each week from May to October, to sit at the Garden gate, welcome visitors, receive donations, and hand out garden literature. The key requirement is "friendliness". The benefit for volunteers? Two hours outside in fine weather in one of the prettiest spots in the city. The Jefferson Market Garden - on Greenwich Avenue between 9th and 10th Streets - is open daily except Monday, weather permitting. If you would like to volunteer as a regular or as an alternate gatekeeper, contact the Director of Volunteers, Sheila Puccia, at 929-9175. Please call between 10:00am and 1:00pm. |
