"After dinner we walked down Hastings Street and cut through an alley way to the beach. Pete walked me along the boardwalk to a bench seat, so perfectly nestled under two palm trees (one either side with their long leaves draping over the seat)...so cute because it had been raining and the seat was wet. So Peter, being the gentleman he is, took off his socks and wiped the seat dry for me...what a smoothy. I can't remember what he did with his socks after that, though."
